Project Description

Client – Absolute Digital

Riverside Business Park – Kendal

The scheme constituted the conversion of several of the stone built 19th-century warehouses of the old Kendal K Shoes factory site. This developer-led project consisted of the creation of five industrial units in a new business park for high-end business users.

The site is directly adjacent to the River Kent with fabulous views over the river, and all of the existing 19th-century industrial building features were retained and preserved where possible. High quality communal entrance halls and circulation combined with communal parking and landscaping schemes ensured we delivered the brief.

Ben Cunliffe Architects were involved in the outset in developing the business plan which was highly dependent on development/construction costs relative to tenant uptake and yield in order to make sure this commercial development was financially viable, and therefore successful.

It was extremely rewarding to sit down with the end user clients from the outset and devise a highly graphical, light, and contemporary interior that matched their aspirations and their style of business.
