Our Background
Ben Cunliffe Architects, based in the Lake District National Park, designs innovative, elegant, sustainable architecture. Established in 2001, the company has brought together talented architects and designers who endeavour to make design and construction an enjoyable and exciting experience for clients.
Our schemes derive their inspiration from their surroundings, their orientation and their function. With careful consideration beautiful spatial sequences are created that celebrate the use of natural light and materials.
We prefer not to impose any predetermined style or aesthetic onto our schemes, and we have procured traditional and contemporary buildings in the private, public and commercial sectors. Buildings are designed which meet and exceed the aspirations of our clients. Presentation is key to our success with the Planning Authorities.
Ben Cunliffe Architects are extremely environmentally conscious and fully aware of the carbon footprint a new build can create. Where possible we aim to minimise this by using local materials and local trades, in addition to sourcing products that are manufactured in the most environmentally friendly manner possible.
We are proud to be at the forefront of creating low energy sustainable buildings which incorporate a wide range of green technologies. We have implemented solar, bio-fuel and ground source air source in our schemes, in addition to self-contained waste systems and reed bed filtration systems.
