Tatton Garden

Ben Cunliffe Architects designed and constructed the Silver Medal winning show garden at RHS Tatton 2006.

The garden was inspired by the landscape design developed for The Gilpin Hotel & Lake House – Garden suites. Like the Building it was designed for, it sought to marry modern crisp materials and plants (cedar, glass, metal) against the softer organic vernacular Cumbrian materials of random stone walling, slate and water). The successful marriage between these two worlds was both in the stepped construction and through the employment of a diverse planting scheme tied together by the circulating and cascading water features.
