Troutbeck House

This Arts & Crafts property is located North of Troutbeck with outstanding views over the Troutbeck Tongue towards the Kentdale Craggs. The house is listed in conservation reports as uncharacteristically ‘grand’ for the village. Tall windows and high ceilings are akin to Victorian townhouse rather than agricultural dwelling or its neighbours.

The house had been converted into two holiday lets in the 70’s with two staircases small rooms and extensive corridors. The new owners wanted to restore the dwelling to a single family home by removing a staircase and removing bathrooms. A new master bedroom was created above the existing garage.

The entire fabric of the building was renovated to upgrade the envelope to current standards. While restoring all the Victorian exterior features, the interior was remodelled into a light bright modern family home.
